Crime Scene Writers - A forum for asking and answering crime scene investigation, applied forensics, and police procedure questions for fiction or non-fiction writers. Writers are invited to ask and crime scene investigators, forensic scientists, and medical practioners are invited to answer. Of course, experienced writers are invited to help the newer ones and each other.
Fanfic_Emergency ~ This is a list for fanfiction writers to help each other write the most accurate scenes they can involving emergency situations whether in modern times, the past, or the future.
Fanfic_Language ~ This group, like the rest of the "fanfic_" groups, is here as a resource. If you're writing a story, and need to know how to ask the location of the bathroom in German, or Klingon, ask here. If you need a spell translated into Latin, again, this is your resource
Fanfic_Law - This list is for people who write (or edit) fanfiction and include legal information--when characters are arrested, arresting, on trial, or involved in investigations; for use in fanfic about lawyers, police officers, investigative agents, etc.; or as part of historical information in period pieces.
Fanfic_Med - This list is for people who write (or edit) fanfiction and include medical information--when characters are injured or ill, for use in fanfic about doctors, or as part of historical information in period pieces.
Fanfic_military - This list is for writers of all kinds of writing (not just fan fiction) to research information about the military (Air Force, Army, Navy, Marines, Coast Guard, in the US and other countries). Ask questions regarding operating procedures, equipment, fraternization and just about anything else you can think of to help with your fiction or non-fiction research and members here will try and answer your questions. Service members, enthusiasts and others with military knowledge are encouraged to join to help answer questions.
Weapons Info - Many errors related to weapons and the people who use them appear in television, movies, and books. We help writers, journalists, and enthusiasts. No question is too basic or detailed to ask here. This group is moderated by experts in the field, and questions will normally be answered within 48 hours, if not sooner. Feel free to ask questions about guns, knives, swords, etc. in self-defense, military, flying, hunting, law enforcement, competitions, crime, and so on. General survival, firefighter/EMT, police, hunting and MacGyver-esque questions can also be answered.
